II.2.4) Description of the procurement
This project is to provide Asbestos Management Services across the SPS estate in accordance with HSG264: The Survey Guide and The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
The supplier shall:
- Undertake Asbestos re-inspection Surveys at each SPS establishment;
- Undertake Asbestos Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) Surveys as and when required ;
- Minimise the time as far as reasonably practical that areas of an Establishment might otherwise be out-of-service by ensuring the availability of trained and competent personnel who are able to undertake the required work promptly and to a suitable standard acceptable to the SPS;
- Identify and notify the Site Estate Contact if any suspected ACM presents a significant risk and requires immediate attention;
- Provide user and technical training if required by the Establishment;
- Create and develop a new Asbestos register from the information provided within the existing management surveys and subsequent re-inspection surveys;
- Carry out any necessary work with suitably qualified individuals and completed by the Supplier to the satisfaction of the Site Estate Contact; and
- Provide professional advice to the SPS on an ad-hoc basis on issues that arise and require the Suppliers' specialist knowledge.
It is envisaged this will be a 3 year contract with the option to extend for a further 3 years.
