Description

WHO has published a Request for Proposals (RFP) to undertake a robust evaluation the pilot implementation of the malaria vaccine RTS,S/AS01. The Ministries of Health of Ghana, Kenya and Malawi are planning to deploy the vaccine in selected moderate to high malaria transmission settings during 2018. The RFP seeks to identify Evaluation Partners who will develop country-specific evaluation protocols, in conjunction with WHO and based on a master protocol developed by WHO. The objectives will be to:

(i)            Evaluate the feasibility of deploying the 4-dose regimen of the RTS,S malaria vaccine through the routine immunisation programme.

(ii)           Consolidate the safety profile of the vaccine when routinely deployed, and

(iii)          Estimate the impact of the routine delivery of RTS,S/AS01 on all-cause mortality in children aged 5-48 months.

The RFP for Ghana can be accessed here.

Four hard copies of the technical proposal and budget should be submitted by 5 p.m. Geneva time on 29 June 2017.
