As part of the overall Galileo Second Generation IOV (In-Orbit Validation) Ground Segment, the G2G IOV Ground Mission Segment and Security Facility has as main purpose the delivery of G2 IOV GMS/GSF capabilities as an upgrade of the Galileo infrastructure in order to contribute to the next two versions of the system and associated infrastructure for:

1. supporting the LEOP, IOT and operations of up to two new families of Galileo Second Generation Batch#1 (G2SB1) satellites, with the first launch planned in November 2024 and;

2. for the provision of legacy services, early versions of G2 system capabilities and overall G2G In-Orbit Validation activities. Options will be identified in the procurement as part of Step 2.
