Description

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is an intergovernmental organization with more than 194 member countries. Since its inception, FAO has worked to alleviate poverty and hunger by promoting agricultural development, improved nutrition and the pursuit of food security - defined as the access of all people at all times to the food they need for an active and healthy life (further and more detailed information on FAO can be found on the internet site: http://www.fao.org).

The ultimate goal of FAO’s and partners’ response to the rapid spread of Fall Armyworm (FAW) across much of Africa is to enable farmers sustainably manage the insect in their cropping systems, with the help of local, national, regional and international research, educational, extension and policy organizations, through Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

The purpose of this Request for Expression of Interest (REoI) is to obtain preliminary data from specialised vendors 1) to assess their capacities to provide viable technical solutions enabling FAO to support countries and farmers in controlling FAW using bio-pesticides, and 2) to understand if they may be interested in participating to a future tender process.

Complete information regarding this REoI is attached as a PDF file, under Documents section of this procurement notice.
