Description
Strengthening multi-country programming ccoordination is an identified deliverable under the rolling workplan. One of the activities to be rolled out in order to meet this deliverable is the collection of data on children on the move from Ethiopia and Somalia along the Southern African migration route. This consultancy is proposed to add to the data collection process which will be undertaken by the Regional Mixed Migration Secretariat (RMMS) by developing two child notices for countries of origin
Activities and Tasks
Under the supervision of the ESAR Child Protection in Emergencies Specialist, and the overall guidance of the Child Protection Adviser, the consultant will undertake the following:
- Prepare an inception report articulating the proposed approach to meeting the project objectives, and in particular the methodology proposed in order to answer the research questions articulated in the Child Notice Guidance Document. Include:
- A preliminary, non-exhaustive list of documents to be reviewed,
- Proposed methodology for the primary data collection and subsequent analysis
- Initial list of organisations/individuals who are proposed to be interviewed as part of the research
- Workplan/logframe
- Prepare a desk review of relevant documents, from which knowledge gaps will be identified for each country context.
- Prepare data collection tools – questionnaires and finalised list of relevant knoledge experts, organisations and government partners to be interviewed for each country context
- Collect primary data
- Analyse primary and secondary data and prepare a draft initial report for feedback for each country context
- Collate feedback from key country and regional stakeholders and finalise the reports
