ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW Assignment Title: 1272067- WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT FACILITIES FOR GAZIPUR CITY CORPORATION Assignment Countries:- Bangladesh ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION The Government of Bangladesh (GoB) is keen to undertake suitable measures to address the environmental concerns on account of untreated wastewater and intends to develop wastewater management facilities with private sector participation under a suitable PPP framework. The GoB has identified Gazipur City Corporation for implementation of the pilot PPP project in Zone 1 and Zone 4 with the support from International Finance Corporation and upon successful demonstration intends to replicate the model across the country The Components envisaged for the Project in Zone 1 and 4 includes 1. Development of Sewage Treatment Plants and sewage network, comprising a. 2 STPs with a cumulative treatment capacity of 56 MLD b. Sewerage network of ~ 137 kms length 2. Faecal sludge management solutions, comprising a. Mechanical desludging of septic tanks in a periodic manner b. Transportation of sludge to 3 faecal sludge treatment plants c.
