 7.Contract description:

The project will be divided into 2 lots. Lot 1 has an overall objective to enhance the capacity and effectiveness of the Iranian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (INRA) in the regulation of nuclear safety as well as support in the design of a nuclear safety centre, sharing experience and promoting best international practices, supporting improvements in the Iranian legislative and regulatory framework, strengthening safety assessment capabilities, supporting the review of stress tests of the Bushehr nuclear power plant (NPP), and finally, supporting the training of Iranian officials through the training and tutoring programme. Lot 2 is aimed to support the Bushehr NPP operator in conducting the stress test of Bushehr NPP on the basis of the European Nuclear Safety Regulatory Group (Ensreg) technical specifications developed to perform stress tests at European nuclear power plants. The actions are part of the implementation of Annex III of the joint comprehensive plan of action (JCPoA).

4 800 000 EUR.

Regulation (EU) No 236/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11.3.2014 laying down common rules and procedures for the implementation of the Union's instruments for financing external action and Council Regulation (Euratom) No 237/2014 of 13.12.2013 establishing an Instrument for Nuclear Safety Cooperation — see Annex A2 of the ‘Practical Guide’.
