The overarching objective of the EbA project is to build the climate-resilience of rural Gambian communities and facilitate the development of a sustainable natural resource-based (green) economy by designing and implementing large-scale EbA interventions within and adjacent to agricultural areas, community-managed forest reserves, and wildlife conservation areas in The Gambia. The EbA intervention will help increase the generation of ecosystem goods and services through the establishment of a climate-resilient natural resource base; and identify and promote climate-resilient livelihood options for rural communities to survive the economic hardships caused by climate change, through the establishment of natural resource-based businesses (e.g., sustainable production and marketing of natural products such as timber, firewood, honey, tea, and fruit). The EbA Project entails three Output: I: EbA interventions implemented in agricultural landscapes and degraded ecosystems to provide adaptation and commercial benefits for local communities, government, and the private sector in The Gambia.; II: Technical support provided, and infrastructural investments made to strengthen local and international markets using goods produced from climate-resilient natural resource base; and III. Institutional capacity of the Government of The Gambia strengthened to support large-scale implementation of EbA in The Gambia. In pursuit of these output indicators, the EbA Project plans to undertake massive construction and rehabilitation works of the following facilities at the project intervention sites: Construction of 2 Ecotourism Lodges (Kauren and Kossemar) Construction of new office block, staff quarters, and block fence at River Gambia National Park Rehabilitation of Dormitory (Student hostel) drainage & sewage systems and construction of new solar water system at RDI Construction of new Classroom, office blocks, and drive/walkway at Kafuta National Forestry School. Rehabilitation of office block at Basse Forestry Station. The construction works are packaged into 4 lots based on type and location. Each Lot requires a specified bid security amount tabulated in the bid data sheet and must be submitted as part of the bid.
