Description
ESCWA is seeking an existing Online Learning Management System (LMS) that is full operational in Arabic to host ESCWA created courses. The features will include but not limited to:
- Fully functioning, user friendly Learning Management System in English and Arabic (Supports several languages, including Arabic).
- Follows the full characteristic of the Arabic language incluidng word and mage flows (right to left orientation) as well as support Arabic language in all of the functions below:
1. No limitation in terms of number of courses nor length of the course that can be uploaded to the LMS in English and Arabic. Unlimited number of simultaneous number of users (facilitators, learners)
2. Includes built-in learning design elements and templates that intuitively guide the user through creating better online courses for any purpose, from corporate training to university classes.
3. Support course instructors and designers, to create practical/engaging courses to ensure quality learning outcomes for learners.
4. Supports all kinds of digital learning materials (Webinars, videos, PDFs, VR games, text, webpages, Microsoft outputs…).
5. Promotes social learning rather than learning in silos. And encourages learners to collaborate and interact with each other on the platform. Such as on social media, course participants can post comments, discuss issues and share notes.
6. Allows turning any inert material into interactive material. For example, when learners are going through a PDF document, they can highlight any part of the text and post a public comment thereon. The actual discussions can happen in context inside the material.
7. Gathers learning data from every interaction that happens on the platform, so that the user can better understand and improve the effectiveness of the courses in real-time.
8. Enables teachers/facilitators to monitor the progress made by the learners, and provides an opportunity to avoid dropouts, and ensure a high completion rate.
Firms that express interest may be invited to participate in the solicitation document which will be based on a detailed Terms of Reference, UN General Conditions of Contracts and other related requirements and documents.
Please note that UNESCWA precludes entering into a contract with a firm that is not fully
registered in UNGM. For registration in UNGM, please refer to the notice, in the "Vendor Response Form" attached hereto.
This EOI does not constitute a solicitation. The United Nations reserve the right to change or cancel the requirements at any time in the EOI and/or solicitation process.
