Overview : The Civil Society Democratic Governance Facility (Amkeni Wakenya) is a flagship project of UNDP established in 2008 to provide coordinated technical and financial support to non-state actors working on democratic governance in Kenya. Amkeni Wakenya invites interested and eligible non-state actors including NGOs, FBOs, Academic Institutions, CBOs to submit proposals for the award of grants in a programme entitled “Strengthening Civic Space for Realization of Sustainable Development Goals-SDGs in Kenya”. The project is to be implemented in 6 counties of Kilifi, Kwale, Turkana, Kitui, Wajir & Garissa with a focus on interventions relating to: - Policy and legal advocacy.
- Civil society self-regulation.
- Digital space protection.
- Public participation.
- Support to marginalised groups.
- Engagement of CSOs with county governments on planning, budgeting and project/programme social audit.
