Overview :

 

The Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) is implementing the project titled as “Building Resilient Communities, Wetland Ecosystems and Associated Catchments in Uganda” in collaboration with UNDP. The project targets the Eastern and South Western Regions of Uganda. The project has three components along the lines of wetland restoration, livelihoods and early warning services

 

 

Weather sites Identified

 

 

 

In total, 25 weather sites were identified.  

 

 

 

In Eastern Uganda, the weather sites are 12 of them.  The maps below shows that seven of the sites are located within the Compound of the District Headquarters (Kaliro, Namutumba, Bududa, Mbale, Butaleja, Budaka and Bukedea) and five of them are located in the compounds of the Sub Counties headquarters (Mollo, Kadama, Kasodo, Mukongoro, Kobwin).

 

In Western Uganda the six of the sites are located in the compounds of the District Headquarters (Rubirizi, Buhweju, Mitooma, Sheema, Ntungamo and Rukungiri) while seven of the sites were identified at sub counties (Kirima, Karengere, Mbaare, Mbarara Airfield, Kisoro Airfield, Kyamuhanga and Banana Research).
