Description
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) invites suitably qualified Internet Service Providers (ISP) to submit their Expression of Interest to participate in the upcoming competitive bidding exercise for the Provision of Fiber Internet Link for its offices in Gigiri, Nairobi, Kenya. The Information and Communication Technology Services (ICTS) of the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) ICTS is responsible for providing, supporting and continually upgrading ICT facilities at Gigiri, including high-speed LAN and WAN networks, satellite communications, video-conferencing, wireless services and radio-based security systems, providing employees with state-of-the-art hardware and software, and offering guidance and training on all aspects of ICT. UNON is currently subscribed to a fully redundant fiber connection (1 Gbps capable). UNON wishes to invite qualified local companies to provide a fully redundant internet link with an initial capacity of 500Mbps and scalable to 1 Gbps. Bandwidth usage beyond the initial 500Mbps to be provisioned through on demand subscription. The data link should be terminated at designated routers (at two physically distinct locations) within the United Nations Complex at Gigiri, Nairobi. The complete detail of the requirement will be included in the tender document that will be issued after this request for EOI is closed. The resultant contract will be awarded for an initial period of three years with an option to extend for two additional consecutive one year periods (i.e 3+1+1) subject to satisfactory performance.
