Description
1.0 United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) intends to solicit bids for the provision of
terrestrial internet bandwidth for UNAMI Office in Kuwait, with the initial contract of 1 year and a
possible extension for two more years (one year-at-a-time), availability of funds and satisfactory
performance by the prospective contractor(s)
2.1 UNAMI requires two terrestrial links of dedicated internet services for high availability and fault
tolerance for the UNAMI office located in Kheitan, Block 4, Kuwait. Vendors are requested to provide a
proposal for dedicated connectivity to UNAMI Offices in Kuwait over optical fiber. UNAMI intends to
establish two separate contracts with alternate service providers one for primary link and the other for
secondary link.
2.2 The proposer should propose for the provision of either one or both ( however only one link will be
awarded to each contractor) the internet services as follows:
• Primary link Main Server Room, Kuwait – Dedicated 50/50 mbps symmetrical (tx/rx) 30 Global IP
Addresses.
• Secondary link DR Server Room, Kuwait - Dedicated 50/50 mbps symmetrical (tx/rx) 30 Global IP
Addresses.
2.3 The Bidder should have the capability to increase bandwidth up to 80/80 mbps for any link that they
quote for without the need to change equipment.
2.4 The vendor must guarantee that the full bandwidth capacity acquired is always maintained to allow
maximum throughput. The vendor must be willing to accept the reference for connection availability
and throughput from UNAMI.
2.5 The vendor shall provide UNAMI with web-based monitoring tools and should also be willing to accept
that the monitoring of service availability and bandwidth measurement will be under the control of
UNAMI.
2.6 The vendor is encouraged to explore the option to use the existing equipment which is already in use
for the delivery of same services (the list of equipment will be provided in the Bid)
3.0 SITE VISIT. There will be no requirement for site visit due to current COVID-19 pandemic situation,
but if required UNAMI can arrange virtual site visit to evaluate the local condition.
4.0 More requirements will be given during the Bidding exercise.
5.0 UNAMI intends to enter into a non-exclusive Internet Services Contract starting from 01 July 2019 to
secure provision of recurring Internet services to main and secondary server rooms,
IMPORTANT NOTE: UNAMI may consider split award provided all mandatory requirements are met
and it is commercially viable
6.0 The service should be executed by qualified and experienced company, based on Scope of work
(SOW), Specifications, Plans, UN General Conditions of Contracts and other related documents which
will be provided later on by UNAMI to qualified companies who express their interest and respond to
this EOI
7.0 For this purpose, UNAMI will undertake a competitive bidding exercise shortly, accordingly would
issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to those companies who would express their interest and provide
initial relevant information as to their ability to fulfill UNAMI’s requirement.
8.0 Please note on the following:
• This EOI is not an invitation to submit a bid/proposal.
• UNAMI reserves the right in selecting the invitees for the competitive bidding based on substantial
and proven records of performance in the subject field of activities and mere expressing an
interest would not automatically warrant for RFP document.
• UNAMI reserves the right to reject EOIs received after the above deadline.
