Description
BACKGROUND
WHO has been supporting the government, especially the RMNCAH secretariat, on revision of the RMNCAH strategy, which emphasize on shifting from program-based governance to more integrated “people-centred” governance. Well Child Care is one of the areas that requires significant shift by integrating immunization, nutrition early child development and other relevant areas. The secretariat requested WHO to support reviewing existing documents in related areas and develop a report with recommendations on next steps
PURPOSE/SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITY
Support the government to review existing documents (policies, regulations, standards, programs etc) on Well Child Care and develop a report with recommendations on next steps.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT
- • List of existing documents (policies, regulations, standards, programs etc) on Well Child Care (including environmental factors for child health, injury prevention, child abuse etc)
- • Summary of relevant documents in relation to promoting child health
- • Held consultation meeting among the government and partners
- • Report with recommendations on promoting child health
METHODS TO CARRY OUT THE ACTIVITY
- • Document search
- • Document review
- • Meetings with the supervisor and the team in WHO country office
- • Meetings with MOH stakeholders and relevant partners
- • Holding a stakeholder consultation meeting
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION
Essential:
University postgraduate master’s degree in public health
EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- • At least 7 years of work experience in public health / development, with a focus on child health
- • Experience of working in health sector in Lao PDR
TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- • Good knowledge in technical areas on child health
- • Strong communication and strategic thinking in written skills and presentations
- • Analytic skills
LANGUAGES
Fluency in English is essential
