Description

The full-time consultant will provide the UNAIDS Gender Team at HQ critical support across its ongoing work, to respond to multiple demands and tasks.
• Support organization of high-level events and advocacy engagements across all aspects of their delivery and play a lead role in day-to-day coordination (e.g., drafting correspondence, invitations, supporting invitees, coordinating design of products and translations, etc.) as well as pre- and post-event dissemination and supporting communications plans. This includes playing a key role in organizing a high-profile side event planned for the Beijing+25 Generation Equality Forum in Paris (postponed into 2021 due to COVID-19, June/dates TBD); tracking related developments (i.e. of the Action Coalitions) and other related events, including to proactively assist in identifying opportunities for engagements for high-impact advocacy (i.e. in panels); reporting and preparation of briefs for senior management and staff; and providing feedback on communications products including social media.
• Provide lead data and research support for advocacy and communications purposes (i.e. for reports, statements, related products), and exploit up-to-date resources and new reports on the evidence base on gender-related issues; support Gender Team’s upkeep and compilation of latest data and emerging findings available across a range of issues affecting women and girls in the context of the HIV response (e.g. adolescent girls and women’s rights, CSE, SRHR, gender-based violence, gender transformative good practices); lead on fact-checking, preparing full citations and supporting quality assurances of reports and products;
• Provide support in day-to-day coordination for the roll out of the Education Plus initiative as may assigned, such as in correspondence, arranging monthly meetings with UNAIDS co-sponsors and consultations with partners (i.e. managing invitations, preparing draft minutes); developing and/or maintaining planning and coordination tools, and monitoring to ensure timely deliverables by all responsible parties (i.e. annual workplan, budget preparations, upkeep of lead global and regional initiatives, etc.); preparing donor proposals, reports and updating internal progress status reports on a monthly basis;
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations and support drafting of talking points for senior management.

The consultancy is full-time, April 2021- March 2022, equivalent to 240 days of work.
