Description
Overview : Installation of intruder deterrent means to the fire escape ladders and provision of push bar escape doors on four floors of the UN House building. - The UN House main building has 5 floors and houses about 100+ staff members. Visitors are estimated to be around 20 at any given time. A newly built fire escape to evacuate the building in case of emergency has been completed. This project is aimed at providing the exit doors to allow staff access the fire escape ladder from inside the building but restrict illegal or forced entry through the ladder into the building.
- As the context of the required contracting of services is security, the contractor must be conversant with such kind of works and knowledgeable of standards and requirements in this context.
- It is emphasized that the purpose of the work is to quickly and safely evacuate building occupants in case of emergency, therefore utmost care and professionalism must be exercised not to cause harm or impediment to those using the escape ladder by flaw in design/construction as per project context.
This project is peculiar in its setting/work required as there are security risks involved if not done properly. The escape route can be used to access the building and expose UN assets to unauthorized |
