In a bid to address negative health and climate impact associated with cooking with low efficient technologies, with the support of the European Union, MININFRA and MINEDUC have secured funds to install clean cooking solutions in a number of schools in Rwanda. Tenders are invited to bid for the Supply and Installation of Improved Cooking Stoves in schools with capacities of 300L and 500L depending on the number of students per selected location. The overall thermal efficiency of the Improved Cook Stove system shall be able to save at least 50% of the wood compared to an open fire system which implies that has thermal efficiency of more than 30%, CO emissions should not exceed 11g/MJD and particular matter does not exceed 218MP2.5g/MJD. The safety parameters should be above 77%. The cooking technology shall provide evidence of a Test report from Rwanda Standards Board (RSB), regional or an internationally accredited Improved Cook stove testing laboratory.
