Tender Details
The Geological Survey of NSW (GSNSW), within Mining, Exploration & Geoscience, Department of Regional NSW, intends to drill a three (3) well exploration campaign in the Darling Basin. The exploration program will gather information on the regional geology of central-western New South Wales. The project is governed by Coal Innovation NSW (CINSW), a team within the GSNSW. The drilling conducted as part of the Stage 2 program will provide important information to the State Government, particularly on the potential of the Darling Basin resources such as geothermal energy and carbon dioxide (CO2) sequestration. The wells are to be located in the Pondie Range and Yathong troughs along the north-east margin of the Darling Basin. Very limited exploration has been undertaken in these sub-basins with limited exploration wells and sparse seismic lines. The proposed wells are within exploration licences EL 8065 and EL 8066. The drilling program is expected to commence in Q3 2022 with a preferred earliest anticipated spud in July 2022, subject to availability of a suitable drilling rig and the requisite long lead materials being available. Well Site Project Management services are needed to provide overall offsite and onsite co-ordination, supervision, reporting and delivery of the drilling operations in the Darling Basin. A project manager and drilling operations supervision team are required to work with and manage drill site preparation, the drilling rig contract, site supervisory personnel, and all third party services (e.g. cementing, mud logging, mud engineering, coring, wireline logging, well testing) and report directly to the Department of Regional NSW Project Management Team.
