INTRODUCTION:
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting bids and subsequently awarding a single Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the Design-Bid-Build Expand Primary Care (Minor) Construction project at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center (VAMC) located at 325 E H St., Iron Mountain, MI 49801.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Project involves an addition of 10,000 square feet to the Southeast corning of the existing main Hospital and the renovation of approximately 1,100 square feet of existing space on the 1st floor Primary Care. Work includes, but not limited to, Architectural, Site, Structural, Fire Protection, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Earthwork, Exterior Utilities, and other aspects of construction as required by the contract drawings and specifications. The work also involves, but not limited to, demolition of existing architectural, site, plumbing, fire protection, mechanical and electrical work.
ADMINISTRATIVE:
The solicitation will be issued as a Invitation for Bid (IFB) conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Offers received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 with a size standard of $39.5 million. The solicitation will be issued in early to mid-March of 2021. The period of performance is approximately 546 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. In accordance with VAAR 836.204, the magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. This notice is not a request for competitive offers.
