BACKGROUND
The Regional Artemisinin-resistance Initiative (RAI) was launched in 2013 in response to the emergence of artemisinin-resistant malaria in the Greater Mekong Subregion. Funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, the first RAI round (2014-2017) was a USD 100m grant covering the countries of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam. Since then, two further RAI grants have been awarded, amounting to US$ 242 million in 2018-2020 and US$ 228 million for 2021-2023.
The RAI Regional Steering Committee (RSC), a multi-stakeholder governance body, was established in late 2013 as the oversight mechanism for the Global Fund RAI grants and follows the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) model of the Global Fund. The RSC provides strategic guidance, selects recipient implementers, oversees grant implementation progress against program objectives and ensures funding is used in accordance with agreed strategic priorities.
The RSC Secretariat is commissioning the creation of a website for the RSC, which is an external to WHO. The performer of works under the direct supervision of the RSC Technical Officer, and under the overall guidance of the RSC Chair and Executive Committee.
PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT
The RAI Regional Steering Committee (RSC) Secretariat is inviting proposals from reputable and qualified individuals or companies with a proven track record in successful website design. The purpose of this assignment is to create a purpose-built website for the RSC Secretariat, with the necessary functionalities to display content in a user-friendly format.
