Title of the assignment

Assessment of the diversion and alternative measures for children in conflict and contact with the law in Bangladesh

Purpose

The purpose of the assignment is to assess the diversion and alternative measures for children in conflict and contact with the law in accordance with the national legal framework of Bangladesh and international standards. The assessment report will support the government to strengthen its national response mechanism for application of non-custodial measures and alternatives to institutionalisation of children in conflict and contact with the law in Bangladesh.

Location

Dhaka, Bangladesh along with seven other areas under seven metropolitan/divisional cities. Urban, rural, hard to reach, climate change affected, emergency and concentration of high number of cases context should be taken into consideration during selection of the areas. These seven other areas will be visited during the data collection. The exact study locations will be finalized during the design of the assessment.  Dhaka including Sunamgunj, Bhola/Potuakhali, Rangamati, Cox’s Bazar, Jamalpur, Rajshahi, and Jessore 

Estimated Duration

The duration of the assignment is 60 days over a period of 6 months
