II.1.4)Short description:

Isotopic reference materials for uranium and plutonium are on high demand within the nuclear safeguards community, e.g. JRC-G.II.8, DG Energy, the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency). In particular, a new 233U spike is needed to replace the exhausted IRMM-040a spike, and a mixed spike with 233U and 242Pu is needed to replace the exhausted IRMM-046c spike for the characterisation of large dried spike (LSD) reference materials. For long-time storage of these new reference materials quartz ampoules are needed. Since flame-sealing is not permitted in the JRC-G.2 nuclear laboratories any more, screw-cap quartz ampoules are the best option. Screw-cap ampoules have been ordered by JRC-G.2 in the past and used successfully in recent years. To satisfy the current and future needs, 475 quartz ampoules need to be purchased.
