The general objective of this action is to enhance the quality and the impact of the work of the CSFD as expert group of the European Commission. This inlcudes - the structured dialogue with the European Commission, the HDG and other relevant international, European and national drug policy institutions and CSOs in the field of drug policy, - the support of drug policy formulation and implementation through research activities, capacity buidling and policy advice. The Civil Society Forum on Drugs (CSFD) is an expert group of the European Commission that was created in 2007 on the basis of the Commission Green Paper on the role of civil society in drugs policy in the EU. The CSFD has 45 Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) as members from EU Member States (MS) and candidate countries, that represent various fields of expertise and approaches in the area of drug policy. This project is a follow-up of the current CSFD project (2017-2019). More specifically the project aims to: • Enhance the coordination, management and organisation of CSFD activities and improve the communication and dissemination of CSFD activities and results (WP1) • Contribute to the development and implementation of EU Drug Policies in EU MS (WP2) • Enhance the civil society contribution to EU positions on international drug policy (WP3) • Increase the knowledge and the capacities of national CSOs in regard to European drug policies, civil society involvement and advocacy (WP4) • Increase the quality of services in the area of drug demand reduction in the EU MS (WP5) Beneficiaries 1. CSFD members and other CSOs active in the field of drug policy and practice 2. The European Commission (including the Horizontal Drug Group and the EU Presidency) and the EU MS Results of the CSFD Project include Research Reports, Manuals, CSFD Position and Policy Papers, Briefing Reports, Workshops, training events, conferences and policy dialogue meetings.
