BACKGROUND
In this fast-changing world, countries in the region need to stay ahead of the curve. Rather than focusing only on the short-term urgent goals, we need a long-term vision with a desirable future. It could be achieved by the ‘backcasting approach’- an approach to set the long-term goal, work backwards to identify required actions, and plan ahead. Japan and Korea have been frontliners in the region that faced challenges in terms of an ageing society and social and economic development.
The Country Support Unit (CSU) at the World Health Organization Regional Office for the Western Pacific (WHO-WPRO) plans to conduct a series of webinars, "Tours of the Future - Map your Journey from the Hidden Needs”. These webinars aim to share the knowledge and experience of Japan and Korea with Member States to offer the opportunity to ‘leapfrog’ with innovative solutions for upcoming challenges with back casting approach.
The first webinar is expected to take place in November focusing on the topic of dementia.
PURPOSE/SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITY
The Country Support Unit under the Division of Programme Management is seeking to contract an experienced university or experts(s) to provide technical inputs, conducting basic research, draft basic information documents and consolidating the draft report of the webinar regarding dementia in Korea and Japan for the first webinar: “Tours of the Future – Map Your Journey from the Hidden Needs”. This webinar is organized by WHO Western Pacific Region.
