The works are located in Chikwawa District, in the lower Shire Valley approximately 60km from the City of Blantyre.   Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s  Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers, January 2011 revised July 2014   (“Procurement Guidelines”), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest   Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Shire Valley Transformation Programme-1, and inspect the bidding documents during office hours from 7:30 am  to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:30pm Monday to Friday except on Weekends and Public Holidays   at the address given below in 8(a).     A complete set of bidding document in English language may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of MK20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Malawi Kwacha). The method of payment will be cash.        Bids must be delivered to the address below stated in 8(b) on or before 2:00 pm local time on  14th July, 2021.  Electronic bidding  will not  be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.
