Description
UNON invites suitably qualified firms to submit their Expressions of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming competitive bidding exercise for design, supply, installation and maintainance of modern outdoor and energy efficient lifts to assist persons with disabilities including wheelchair users in vertical movements through several buildings at UN Compound in Gigiri, Nairobi - Kenya.
At the moment the buildings are not provided with any lift. The Contractor shall consist of highly qualified personnel, in terms of managers, engineers and technicians, to provide UNON with at least four (4) passenger lifts in compliance with the current international regulation and UNON requirements.
The works shall include but not limited to the following :
1. Design and construction of the lift shafts at various locations on site. For these works, the lead firm
(lift supplier) will be required to engage a suitably registered (Minimum NCA-3) civil construction firm
to carry out all associated civil works.
2. Engineering design of the whole system, including but not limited to, drawings and technical
specifications for the structural frame/ glass, civil works, electrical supply, controls, alarms and
relevant care.
3. Provision of a method statement outlining all important tasks, their duration, equipment/tools required
for installation, commissioning and relevant safety precautions.
4. Provision of software and necessary license
Subsequent to the closing date of this EOI, UNON anticipates to issue a formal solicitation document to
potential companies who have expressed interest to provide the services in accordance with the
requirements that will be fully speficied in the solicitation document. The complete details of qualification
requirements will be provided in the solicitation document.
UNON reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement of this EOI at any time during the EOI and/or
solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this REOI does not automatically guarantee your company
will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued. Only Vendors which in UN's sole discretion are
deemed eligible may receive the final tender solicitation documents.
