Short description Development of a Design & Interpretation Plan. Detailed description Granard Motte Community Enterprise CLG (GMCE) are a voluntary community group in Granard, Co. Longford. We are developing a Visitor Centre at the base of Granard Motte (Irelands highest motte). We have just completed an indoor interpretive centre, based on the history of the Normans in Ireland. The next phase of the project will be the completion of a heritage/cultural park on a 15 acre site adjacent to the Interpretative Centre and bounding Granard Motte. When completed, the visitor centre will form part of Failte Ireland’s “Irelands Ancient East” project. We now wish to engage a suitably experienced multi-disciplinary team, who will work with the group on the provision of a design & interpretive plan for the heritage/cultural park. This plan will form the basis of our funding application to Failte Ireland, under their Grants Scheme for Large Tourism Projects 2016-2020.
