BACKGROUND

Malaysia has begun its National COVID-19 Immunization Programme led by the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to COVID-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV), co-chaired by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and the Ministry of Health (MOH). The World Health Organization (WHO) Representative Office to Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and Singapore provides technical support to the Government’s whole-of-society approach to the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, with focus on vulnerable groups in Malaysia. Risk communication and community engagement is integral in the COVID-19 response and in the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccines in the country. WHO is working closely with the MOH and local partners in developing visual content for COVID-19.

 

PURPOSE/SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITY

The purpose of this APW is to develop information, education and communication materials such as posters, leaflets, infographics and video animations, in support of the National COVID-19 Immunization Programme and the vaccine rollout.

 

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT

Output 1: Content plan

Deliverable 1.1: Draft information, education and communication (IEC) plan based on the immediate needs, which could include posters, leaflets, infographics, and animated videos

Deliverable 1.2: Revise and finalize content plan based on feedback from MOH and WHO

Output 2: Develop IEC materials

Deliverable 2.1: Develop the IEC materials as approved based on the content plan

Deliverable 2.2: Revise and finalize IEC materials based on review and feedback from MOH and WHO

Output 3: Submission of reports

Deliverable 3.1: Interim mission report monthly

Deliverable 3.2: End of mission technical report

 

METHODS TO CARRY OUT THE ACTIVITY

To work with WHO and Ministry of Health Malaysia in developing visual content for COVID-19

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

A creatives and design agency based in Malaysia

 

EDUCATION

Desirable:

Previous experience of working with WHO, Ministry of Health, other UN agencies or INGOs

Previous experience on developing COVID-19 communication materials

 

EXPERIENCE

Essential: At least five (5) years of experience in developing information, education and communication (IEC) materials. Demonstrated experience in producing high quality visual IEC materials

Desirable:

Familiarity with COVID-19 response and public health issues in Malaysia

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Essential: Excellent skills in graphic design, video animation, photo and video editing

 

LANGUAGES

Excellent speaking, reading and writing knowledge of English and Bahasa Malaysia

Producing results

Ability to meet deadlines

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Duration of contract is for 6 months starting 1 June 2021
