Early Childhood Development to Build Tajikistan’s Human Capital Project funded by the World Bank

Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan announces a competition for selection for the position:

International consultant architect to design prototype preschool facilities

The objectives of this assignment are to develop standard designs for prototype preschools to be constructed initially at three locations and eventually at locations around the country. The Consultant will develop these designs in collaboration with the ECDS (to be contracted separately by the PIG) and the Consultant and the ECDS will, in developing the designs, make recommendations for any necessary amendments to Tajikistan’s construction regulations.

Qualification requirements

The Consultant should have an advanced degree in architecture from a recognized university, a recognized professional qualification from the country of residence and

Proven design skills,

Excellent communication skills,

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office,

Knowledge of Russian will be an advantage.

Professional Experience

The Consultant will have a minimum of 15 years professional experience which should have included:

Extensive experience in the design and construction of educational facilities including facilities for early childhood development,

Experience in providing appropriate and cost-effective designs for the new facilities in accordance with the latest international best practice for preschools.

Experience of the design and construction of educational facilities in CIS countries will be an advantage,

Knowledge of the construction techniques and norms in CIS countries will be an advantage.

The Consultant should be a qualified and registered architect.
