Assignment Description Program Context Based within the World Banks Africa Gender Innovation Lab (GIL), the Innovations in Financing Women Entrepreneurs (IFWE) project is an initiative to pilot, scale up, and evaluate new approaches to empowering Ethiopias women entrepreneurs. IFWE acts as a catalyst for innovation by designing programs that provide women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to succeed. IFWE also carries out rigorous research to measure the impact of these innovations and promote evidence-based policies. As part of its work on new approaches to entrepreneurship training, GIL seeks to contract a qualified training provider to adapt existing materials for an in-person entrepreneurship training and to deliver that training to a total of 500 participants. Target training participants are female, growth-oriented business owners in Ethiopia (primarily Addis Ababa) with some level of post-secondary education. Innovative pedagogical approaches that promote user engagement and active learning are encouraged, as are approaches to facilitate attendance by participants (e.g. convenient training location, provision of transportation or childcare services). GIL will carry out an impact evaluation to assess the effects of the training on business outcomes. Assignment The firm will be responsible for the following: Adapting existing training materials (available in English and Amharic) into an approximately 40h course that can be delivered in a classroom setting. Delivering this training to a total of 500 participants in Addis Ababa (potentially also in Adama and Hawassa), in groups of not more than 25 each. The firm will need to host the training sessions on its own premises or hire a training venue. The list of training participants will be provided by the World Bank. Collaborating with GIL on generating training insights and evaluating the impact of the program. The bulk of the assignment is expected to take place during Q1-Q3 of 2022.
