ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW Assignment Title: 1277290- Solid Waste Management (SWM) and Gender Assessments to support the Yemen Integrated Urban Services Emergency Project II (YIUSEP II) Assignment Countries:- Yemen, Republic of ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION The objective of this Consulting assignment is to provide essential information that the World Bank Task Team can use to prepare a project eligible for GPRBA funding. The firm will be required to assist the Task Team to prepare a detailed design for the proposed RBF subsidy scheme. The scope covers selected municipalities within the cities of Aden, Sanaa and Mukhalla, which have potential to pilot the use of RBF subsidies to improve the technical and financial as well as environmental and social requirements performance of SWM services. Engaging with the local authorities, the Cleaning and Improvement Fund and Local Cleaning Funds in these municipalities will form a critical part of this assignment. However, the firms scope of work will also include close interaction with other key stakeholders, including UNOPS (implementing partner for YIUSEP II), private enterprises, civil society, informal sector workers, and prospective beneficiaries. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS The World Bank Group now invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals). Please note that the total size of all attachments should be less than 5MB. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. Interested firms are hereby invited to submit expressions of interest. Expressions of Interest should be submitted, in English, electronically through World Bank Group eConsultant2 (https://wbgeconsult2.worldbank.org/wbgec/index.html) NOTES Following this invitation for Expression of Interest, a shortlist of qualified firms will be formally invited to submit proposals.
