In difficult operational environments, where needs exceed the capacities of commercial transporters, WFP relies on its own fleet of around 900 heavy-duty trucks (80% of which are Kamaz trucks) that oftentimes complete the ‘final mile’ of WFP’s supply chain. These trucks are essential in operating environments that are remote, insecure or lacking in infrastructure, to fill critical gaps in the local transport capacity and deliver life-saving assistance through toughest conditions.

Global Fleet, WFP’s dedicated fleet team, based at Headquarters in Rome, Italy, is responsible for oversight and management of global trucking assets and spare parts, including 30 fleet workshops around the world.

The WFP Fleet Management Unit seeks to purchase KAMAZ spare parts and tires for trucks for its operational needsIn addition to the spare parts, WFP may require the related services (training, provision of truck manuals, SOPs, etc.).
