Call for Expressions of Interest

Design & Inspection Teams (Consultants) for the retrofitting of multiple healthcare facilities in Guyana.

The retrofitting is aimed at:
--> making the healthcare facilities safe from the impact of natural hazards (principally hurricanes, earthquakes, torrential rain and coastal hazards),
--> adapting to climate change and contributing to the mitigation of climate change in line with the PAHO SMART Hospitals Concept and methodology.

Tendering for the retrofitting projects are expected to start during the first quarter of 2018 and construction to be completed by the early 2021.

The Design & Inspection Teams are expected to include Architects, Engineers (various disciplines) and any other disciplines required by a particular team.
The scope of services will include:

o detailed inspection of the existing facilities to determine the retrofitting requirements;
o preparation of preliminary designs, cost estimates and time schedules for approval by the client;
o production of tender and construction documents;
o advising on the award of construction and supply contracts;
o administering and inspecting construction and supply contracts;
o delivering as-built documents to the client.

Companies and or their key personnel should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with similar projects and the technical and financial capacity to undertake 3 to 5 healthcare facilities simultaneously.
