Tender Details

To: All Interested Parties, Including Potential Respondents to a Tender

Fire & Rescue NSW hereby releases the attached DRAFT FOR COMMENT ONLY specifications documents.

There are two documents, being the specification for Structural Firefighting Helmets; and the specification for Multipurpose Helmets.

THIS IS NOT A LIVE TENDER and responses are NOT REQUIRED.

HOWEVER, if you have any feedback on the content, wording or construction of these specification documents, we would sincerely welcome it.

Feedback should be provided via an email ONLY, by no later than 5:00pm,  17 March 2022, being sent to:-

[email protected] with Subject Line of Email saying “Helmets – Spec Feedback”

  • You may comment on any errors, inconsistencies or omissions you think may have been made.
  • You may comment on any ambiguities.
  • You may ask specific questions – these will not necessarily be answered but in determining whether a response is merited FRNSW may simply opt to improve the Specification documents for inclusion in an actual tender in coming weeks.

DO NOT send us information about your own (or any other vendor’s) products, pricing or capabilities. It will be discarded unread.

The purpose of this exercise is to assist government to ensure a robust specification is eventually issued when we commercially engage with the market, rather than catching errors during the actual tender period when timeframes are tighter and interaction with potential respondents requires a different level of caution lest the process be voided.

NOTE: The final tender is expected to be released in the month of March 2022. It is likely to be in a format that allows both Fire & Rescue NSW, and the Rural Fire Service – at their separate, operational discretion - to use the results of the tender process to select suppliers that will suit their needs for a coming period of perhaps 3 to 7 years, dependent upon responses. Such matters will be more fully articulated in the tender itself. The final tender might also make allowances for other agencies or jurisdictions to purchase form the resultant contract – but this is undetermined at this time
