Description

Background

The World Food Programme WFP is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. Each year, WFP assists some 80 million people in around 80 countries

Service required

WFP would like to short-list companies for a formal tender process for the Provision of software programs which would allow WFP to efficiently handle all chartering, post-fixture activities and to make more informed and proactive decisions by streamlining day-to-day operations of our vessel operations by, for example, including automatic ETA’s, configurable alerts as issues arise and provide for bunker inventory estimates.

By June 2018, WFP expects to launch a competitive tender to identify a suitable service provider which might provide a tailored software program able to:

-        Automate voyage hand-off to Operations and Finance Departments

-        Provide immediate information such as availability of vessels and cargos, perform deviation, best port, and sensitivity analysis.

-        Provide real-time visibility monitoring into the forward voyage schedule.

-        Flexibility in analysing potential route deviations at any point in the voyage lifecycle, or measure performance against initial benchmark estimates, enabling us to respond to changes immediately.

-        Increase internal reporting and auditing by viewing voyage P/L’s and tracking daily operations as component of KPI’s for each voyage.
