Overview :

Description of the assignment: International consultant on economic valuation of mountain ecosystem services will be fully responsible for: assessing feasibility of piloting a payment for ecosystem services scheme and conducting economic valuation of ecosystem services in Ugam Chatkal Snow Leopard Landscape (Tashkent region), and potential use for PA financing (e.g. for Ugam Chatkal State National Nature Park); identify options for any other PA financing from ecosystem services (e.g. tourism, hunting, etc.).

The International consultant on economic valuation of mountain ecosystem services will work under the overall guidance of the UNDP Head of Sustainable Development Cluster (SDC), and direct supervision of the Project Manager.

The assignment will be based on home-based work with at least one mission (for fourteen days) in 2019 to Uzbekistan for a total of 41 working days during the period of April - October 2019 (total 41 w/d). The International Expert will be fully and solely responsible for undertaking the below tasks and quality and timely producing the expected outputs and deliverables indicated below.

Project name: “Sustainable natural resource use and forest management in key mountainous areas important for globally significant biodiversity”.

Period of assignment/services: Total 41 working days during the period of April - October 2019.
