The United Nations Office of the Resident Coordinator in Botswana is seeking services of a consultant to undertake the development of the Resource Mobilisation Strategy of the Botswana-UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2022 - 2026. The Consultancy will be conducted in Gaborone. Engagement with UN Agencies based in Gaborone will be conducted in-person and virtually with UN entities based outside Gaborone.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2022 – 2026 represents the UN’s capacity and commitment to partner with the Government of Botswana in line with the country’s aspirations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fulfil the country’s vision of a prosperous Botswana for all. Aligned to the NDP 11, (cognizant of a transition to NDP 12), with a focus on inclusive partnerships for the delivery of a broadly shared agenda to achieve sustained and inclusive economic growth, social development and environmental protection, the Cooperation Framework is structured around four interrelated strategic pillars: People, Planet, Prosperity, and Peace and Partnerships. The UNSDCF has the following five development transformative outcomes, which are to be achieved by 2026:

Outcome 1: Gender inequality is reduced, and women and girls are empowered to access their human rights and participate in and benefit from inclusive development.

Outcome 2: All people, particularly vulnerable and marginalized groups, have equitable access to quality services of health, nutrition, education, and social protection.

Outcome 3: Botswana sustainably uses and actively manages its diverse natural resources, improves food security and effectively addresses climate change vulnerability.

Outcome 4: Botswana has strengthened resilience to shocks and emergencies, and is on a sustainable, equitable economic trajectory, reducing levels of inequality, poverty and unemployment.

Outcome 5: Botswana is a just society, where leaders are accountable, transparent and responsive, corruption is reduced, and people are empowered to access information, services and opportunities and participate in decisions that affect their lives and livelihoods.
