The overall objective of the assignment is to support the Poverty Eradication Unit (PECU) to finalise the Interim Botswana Poverty Eradication Policy and Strategy. This activity will enable, during the 4th Quarter of 2017, adoption of the policy and strategy by the Government of Botswana.

Specific objectives are as follows:

1. Analysis of the 2015 Multi Topic Survey Data on Poverty to inform the development of the new policy for relevance.
2. Conduct at least two regional workshops with various stakeholders, including, central and local government, civil society, private sector and development partners’ representatives with a view to informing improvements in the current draft.
3. Update the current draft following the stakeholders’ workshops above in readiness for submission to government for consideration and approval;
4. Based on the above as well as Vision 2036, the global agenda for sustainable development and National Development Plan 11, develop a draft five (5) year implementation plan for the approved Poverty Eradication Policy and Strategy.
