Description
BACKGROUND: UNICEF promotes the rights and welfare of all children and adolescents in everything we do. Together with our allies, we work in 190 countries and territories in the world, including 36 in Latin America and Caribbean (LAC), to transform this commitment into practical actions that benefit all children globally, especially focusing our efforts on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded. The Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP) of UNICEF Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Regional Office seeks to establish an agreement with a qualified service provider(s) for an Innovation Methodologies training for staff members in the LAC region. PURPOSE: Under the overall guidance of the Regional Corporate Specialist, the consultant institution will develop an Innovation Methodologies Training for UNICEF’s staff members Latin America and the Caribbean region. This Innovation Methodologies training aims to support development effectiveness and to equip staff with specific skills in innovation and how to use them to develop better partnership agreements, fundraising products and optimize their activities for UNICEF to deliver our private sector fundraising and program results. The request is to provide dedicated, highly interactive, and behavior changing Innovation Methodologies training using a proven methodology or platform. The target group of attendees includes UNICEF LAC staff who are involved directly or indirectly with private fundraising and partnerships: Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) Managers, Corporate Alliances Specialists, Individual Giving Specialists, Programme Specialists, Communication Specialists, Child Rights and Business Specialists, Digital Specialists, etc… The training will last nine days and can be attended by a minimum 50 people and maximum of 70 people organized to optimize the learning opportunities. The training will include 1) a theoretical part on Agile Methodologies (SCRUM), Design Thinking, Business Model Canvas, Lean Start-up and Customer Experience Design and 2) a practical part guided by a mentor, where UNICEF staff will be organized in teams to develop innovation projects with the aim of solving real challenges related to the work of Corporate Alliances and Individual Giving. Specific outcomes: • Have a broad understanding of the Innovation Methodologies. • Understand how agile methodology works, with special focus on SCRUM. • Be able to solve problems and challenges creatively through the Design Thinking methodology. • Have knowledge of the Value Proposition Canvas and Business Model Canvas tools. • Acquire knowledge on how to apply the Lean Startup method. • Have learned techniques and tools that can be used to leverage their capability in developing innovative projects. • Have learned to change their behavior in how they approach new projects. • The training is going to be organized between September and November of 2021 through an online platform and with a practical part guided by a mentor. • The number of attendees will be minimum 50 and maximum 70 persons per course to allow for experiential learning and practice. • The practical part of the training will be carried out in teams of a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 7 people. EXPECTED RESULTS (measurable results): The contractor is expected to deliver: The most effective training to staff attended. The contractor will be delivering a professionally facilitated training for UNICEF staff and provide support to participants as needed. The courses proposed should be well-established and developed, versus courses that still need to be developed. For this reason, the expectation is that there are no course development costs associated with the proposal; all costs shall be included in the average course fee. The contractor will be responsible for all materials including printed materials, if any, that will be used in the workshops. UNICEF can provide insights to our work if requested. Language used at the workshop is Spanish. The proposal should also include the option for UNICEF staff to participate in open courses, i.e. scheduled and offered by the provider on regular basis.
