Description

The MCIEast Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, MCAS Cherry Point, NC, hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to the Original Equipment Manufacturer, RIX Industries (CAGE Code: 28953), on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

This requirement is for the the onsite installation and commissioning of one RIX Compressor Air Systems Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (NAICS 811310) in accordance with the Performance Work Statement.  The PLC is used to control the three RIX air compressors (system) that form a military pneumatic component test system.  The purpose of the test system is to simulate engine bleed air conditions to pneumatic components under test.  The period of performance is 30 days upon award.  Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required item and services.  Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from RIX Industries, the Original Equipment Manufacturer.

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this notice will be considered.   Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
