LEE831C - UL RFT - Provision of a Cellular Communications Mobile Private Network (MPN) and Collaboration Testbed
CONFIRM has recently secured funding to develop a new 1600m^2 R&D facility in Limerick’s Digital District. The Centre is also ramping up R&D activity relating to the development of high-speed networking and Human Machine Interactions and applications. The Centre foresees that 5G networks have the potential to become the dominant communication platform of the ‘factory of the future’, providing the means to:
• deliver the increased bandwidth requirements to accommodate ever more ‘connected’ equipment,
• handle the increased data volumes transmitted across the factory floor,
• provide the millisecond latency needed for real-time remote control of robotics and AI enabled inspection and process monitoring.
Limerick.
