The Planning Institute of Jamaica has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Foundations for Competitiveness and Growth Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Supply of Security Appliance - Firewall.

The Planning Institute of Jamaica now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the Supply of Security Appliance - Firewall, as follows:

  1. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with e-GP procedures as further defined in the e-GP System: Quick Guide for Suppliers. This is an online managed tender, and tender documents and supplier bids will be made available and accepted via the electronic Government Procurement Portal (www.gojep.gov.jm). No hard copy bid will be accepted and there will be no physical tender box for drop-off of bids.
  2. To participate in this tender opportunity, suppliers must first be registered and know how to use the electronic Procurement System, www.gojep.gov.jm. Please self- register on the e-GP System, by selecting the Register as a supplier link from the home page. Suppliers are encouraged to upload their bids at least two (2) hours prior to the deadline for bid submission.

  5. A pre-bid meeting will not be held.
  6. Bidders are required to demonstrate that they have the following capabilities:
    1. Financial statements demonstrating a minimum average revenue of J$30.0 million for 2019 and 2020
    2. Valid Public Procurement Commission Certificate in the category of Computers, Computer Equipment, Parts & Supplies
  7. Bidders must possess a valid Tax Compliance Certificate and must be registered with the Public Procurement Commission in order to participate[1].
  8. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Planning Institute of Jamaica between 8:30am and 4:00pm Mondays to Fridays:

  1. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid-Securing Declaration. The bid validity period shall be 90 days after bid closing.
  2. Bids shall be submitted electronically at www.gojep.gov.jm (e-GP procedures are defined in the e-GP System: Quick Guide for Suppliers ) on or before March 3, 2022 at 2:00pm. Late bids will be rejected.
  3. Bids will be opened on March 3, 2022 at 2:30pm in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend virtually via a link that will be shared when the bid is submitted.

* For foreign bidders: the foreign contractor will be required to obtain a valid Tax Compliance Certificate and a valid PPC Registration Certificate before contract effectiveness.
