Consulting Services for Assistance to the Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) for Project Implementation for Sewerage networks extension Works.
In the framework of the French and German Financial Cooperation with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, it is planned to finance the project Improved access to water, water distribution performance and related sewerage disposal in Irbid Governorate for host communities and Syrian refugees. The European Union, as well as the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Federal Republic of Germany (through KfW) have allocated a financing of EUR 152 million to improve the water supply and sewerage systems and services in the Northern governorates of Jordan. The Project concerns the sewerage networks extension works in the Northern governorates (Irbid and Ramtha) in Jordan for host communities and Syrian refugees.

The Project concerns improved sewerage disposal in the Northern governorates (Irbid and Ramtha) in Jordan for host communities and Syrian refugees. The sewerage systems of the governorates are general in worse conditions and have significantly deteriorated due to the huge impact of Syrian refuges in the project area and the tremendously increase
The design of the Project is based on Masterplans for the water supply and the sewerage systems in the Northern governorates, which have been recently prepared by consultants, financed from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The Masterplans identified priority measures for improvement of the systems, which shall be implemented until 2020, with a required investment volume of EUR 18 million for sanitation networks.
The services of component B refer to preparation of design and tender documents, as well as supervision for the connection of unserved areas in West and East Irbid to the existing central wastewater disposal System.
Integrated project co-funded by EU funds (NIF and MADAD), AFD (French Development Agency) and KfW.
Section III: Legal, economic, financial and technical information
A. Eligible Consultants will include the following:
— International Independent Consulting firms who satisfy the requirements; or
— Experienced Jordanian Consulting Engineers ‘classified as Grade 1 (A and B) in Water and Wastewater’ as per the Government Tender Directorate classification system who satisfy the requirements, or;
— An association of Local and International Consulting Engineering firms both satisfying the requirements.
b. All bidders have to be experienced. Experienced consulting firms are defined as consulting firms that have delivered design and supervision engineering services for similar projects (similar means: experience with design, tendering, construction supervision for sewer networks) and meet the requirements as per the evaluation criteria.
