The Limited Liability Company “Kyzylzhar su” (the ”Company”), a water distribution and waste water treatment company in the city of Petropavlovsk (the “City”) entirely owned by Northern-Kazakhstan Oblast Akimat, has received a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the “Bank”) and capital grant from the Government of Kazakhstan to finance rehabilitation and upgrade of the water and waste water system in the City.

The proposed project has a total estimated cost of up to KZT 4,157 million.

The project will require procurement of the following works, goods and services:

• Hydraulic modelling

• Rehabilitation of water pumping stations

• Reconstruction of the waste water pumping stations

• Reconstruction of water supply network

• Reconstruction of waste water network

• Supply of flow meters and pressure control valves

• Supply of maintenance, leak detection, CCTV and laboratory equipment

• Installation of SCADA

Tendering for the project is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the EBRD will be tendered in accordance with the EBRD’s Procurement Policies and Rules. The proceeds of the EBRD loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law or official regulation of the Purchaser’s country.
