Kolumbus has started work on a new contest for the operation of the ferry route in Lysefjorden. The next contract will include a need for greater capacity than the current system with a combination boat, as well as low/zero emission technology. Kolumbus would therefore like feedback and information from operators, shipyards, and ship designers on conditions around the technical, operative feasibility and costly elements.

After a public hearing, Kolumbus has received input from users, municipalities, and other interested parties, which mainly concerns:

• travel time;

• manoeuvring time; and

• manoeuvring capabilities in bad weather (including at small quays).

See the annexes:

Annex 1: Example of a timetable

Annex 2: Map of the route

Kolumbus would like responses to the following, given mentioned timetable/route:

• Are the requirements feasible?

• Are any of the requirements particularly costly?

• Other conditions that can be of interest, or that suppliers believe Kolumbus ought to take into consideration for the further work?
