The Forest & Wildlife Department, Government of Sindh received grant financing from National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) under Pakistan Hydromet and Climate Services Project/PHCSP funded by the World Bank.  Under the aforesaid grant financing Sindh Forest & Wildlife Department launched a development project titled “Restoration of Riverine, Inland, Mangroves, Dry-land & Urban Ecosystems of Sindh Province” and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the grant to payments for following “National Individual Consultants’ Services”, to be procured under this project. The Project Development Objective is to restore productivity of various Forest ecosystems like Riverine, Inland, Mangroves, Dry-land and Urban Forestry in Sindh province.

 

Forest & Wildlife Department, Government of Sindh now invites eligible individuals to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide detailed CVs indicating that they are qualified to perform the services:

Position

Required Qualification & Experience

  1.  

Environment & Social Safeguards Specialist

(One position)

Qualification:  At-least Master’s degree in relevant fields i.e. Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Forestry form a foreign or local university, duly recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

 

Experience: Minimum Eight (08) years’ relevant experience in developing and implementing of Environment and Social Safeguard Documents. Experience on the World Bank funded projects for public sector development projects will be accorded due weightage. Candidates with Environment & safeguards experience of forestry, wildlife, tourism sector projects funded by development organisations shall be accorded more weightage.

Procurement Specialist (One position)

Qualification: At-least Master’s degree in Business Administration /Management Sciences/ Economics/ Commerce/ Accounting/ Supply Chain, Logistics or any other related field form a foreign or local university, duly recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

Experience:         Minimum of Eight (08) years of professional working experience related to Procurement and Contract Management.

An attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016 [Revised November 2017, July 2018 and November 2020] (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest, the same shall be observed while participating in the procurement process. The individual consultants shall be hired in accordance with the procedures set out in Para 7.36 of the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations. In addition, the whole procurement process will be governed under the World Bank “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016 [Revised November 2017, July 2018 and November 2020] which can be perused at the website:https://www.worldbank.org/en/projects-operations/products-and-services/brief/procurement-new-framework#framework.
