Description

Overview :

e-Tendering Ref # :0000003534

Overview :

The Government of Lesotho launched a Lesotho Data for Sustainable Development with support from EU and UNDP. This project is aimed at assisting the Government in the collection, analysis and dissemination of development data and building institutional and technical capacities for monitoring and evaluation of development programs and effective pubic management systems. The data project is being implemented by the Ministry of Development Planning, through the Department of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and Bureau of Statistics (BOS).

In 2017, the Project undertook a Diagnostic and Data gaps Assessment in the National Statistical System, as part of mapping national needs and capacity for monitoring the SDGs and NSDP. To close the data gaps it was recommended that there is need to have targeted interventions in place, modify statistical production methods, exploit administrative data, improve data management practices and exploit big data (gains of data revolution). It is against this background that on behalf of the Ministry of Development Planning, UNDP is seeking a reputable Statistics Costing Specialist or a strategic planning expert to support comprehensive costing of the identified data needs to facilitate effective measuring and monitoring of SDG and NSDP II implementation. Interested candidates should submit their proposals for carrying out the assignment.
