The purpose of the consultancy package is to produce technical inputs for the design and due 
diligence for developing the project design on the use of education technology (EdTech).  Another 
consultancy package in the transaction technical assistance (TRTA) supports development of overall 
project design. Outputs of this EdTech consultancy package will be reflected in the project 
design.  Two outputs stated in the project concept are related to this EdTech consultancy package, 
namely:
(i)	Output 1: Quality of STEM education with support of technology improved: (a) development of a 
plan for the pilot testing of interdisciplinary science, technology, engineering, and mathematics 
(STEM) classes for grades 5-11 with gamified, interactive and engaging learning modalities, 
including the use of immersive learning such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) at 
200 project schools; (b) assessment of teachers’ professional development through upgrading e-
platforms for providing pre- and in-service teacher training, conduct gap analysis, recommendations 
and plans for improvements in using EdTech for teacher professional development; and (c) assessment 
of e-learning platforms for student learning and teacher training including platforms such as 
Maktab.uz through conduct of gap analysis, and make recommendations and plans for improvements in 
using EdTech for e-learning platforms.
(ii)	Output 3: Sector management strengthened with expanded partnership—assess the Public Education 
Monitoring and Information System (PEMIS) through conduct of gap analysis, make recommendations and 
plans for improvement.
