BACKGROUND
Ministry of Health and Ministry of Home Affairs have been conducting workshops with selected provincial and district governors on strengthening local governance for COVID-19 preparedness and Primary Health Care (PHC) beyond COVID-19 with support of UNDP and WHO. The two ministries have agreed to further support the provinces and districts to improve community engagement for strengthening PHC. Lao TPHI is supporting this initiative through generating evidence on effective community engagement and MCH Center is translating the evidence into interventions to improve community engagement for strengthening PHC, including increasing uptake of essential RMNCAH services
PURPOSE/SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITY
To provide technical support and capacity development on anthropological approaches to Lao Tropical & Public Health Institute (TPHI), Mother and Child Health Centre (MCHC), Ministry of Home Affairs and other potential stakeholders in developing and delivering participatory workshops to engage community in increasing uptake of essential RMNCAH services (family planning, antenatal care, SBA delivery and immunization) and in other potential roles of community in primary health care. To develop qualitative methods of assessment and curriculum development in participatory techniques.

Bachelor’s degree in anthropology or social science

Excellent spoken/written English, and adequate spoken Lao

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Due to the travel restrictions, long time needed for processing of entry to Lao documents and timelines for the activity, only candidates that are currently in Lao will be considered.
