The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Administration on Children, Youth and Families (ACYF), Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) announces the availability of funding in the form of discretionary, competitive grants to Indian Tribes and tribal organizations to develop and implement projects that educate American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) youth on abstinence and contraception for the prevention of pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and HIV/AIDS. Projects are also required to implement at least three of six adulthood preparation subjects. The targeted population for this program are youth between the ages of 10 and 19 years, and pregnant and parenting youth under age 21. Tribal PREP program implementation must adhere to the following requirements: Replicate evidence-based programs (using culturally and linguistically appropriate adaptations, as necessary); Substantially incorporate elements of effective programs that have been proven on the basis of scientific research to change behavior; or Substantially incorporate elements or practices from programs that have demonstrated effectiveness within AI/AN tribal communities.
